El cáncer de mama le ganó a Kelly Preston

John Travolta dijo que su esposa luchó «valientemente por dos años»

Kelly Preston murió a los 57 años de edad, luego de perder la batalla contra el cáncer de mama que le fue diagnosticado hace dos años.

La muerte de la actriz, quien también era esposa de John Travolta, se dió a conocer a través de una publicación que hizo el actor en la cual destacaba lo duro que había sido su batalla.

«Con el corazón roto te informo que mi bella esposa Kelly ha perdido su batalla de dos años contra el cáncer de mama. Ella peleó en una lucha valiente con el amor y el apoyo de muchos», escribió el actor.

It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many.  My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while.  But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. La pareja se comprometió en 1990 y al año siguiente se casó. Tuvo tres hijos: Ella, de 20 años; Benjamin, de 9; y Jett, que falleció a los 16 años en un hotel de Bahamas en unas circunstancias que aún no han sido bien esclarecidas.

En Hollywood, Preston trabajó en películas como Twins, From Dusk till Dawn, Jerry Maguire, El regalo prometido y The Cat in the Hat, entre otras. Asimismo, participó en películas para la televisión.
